Quinton Stevens netted seven treys on his way to 25 points as the Mules improved to 21-5 on the season.
Jake Stevens scored nine of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Mules pulled away late for the win. Bernie held a slim 74-71 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
"This was a great game to be a part of," Bernie coach Brad Botsch said. "The atmosphere and energy in the gym was amazing. I know the fans didn't leave disappointed as both teams put on an offensive show tonight (Friday)."
Silas Dill added 20 points and nine rebounds for the Mules, while Zach Curry added 15 and Jake Welch contributed 15 assists and nine boards to go along with four points.
"We ran the floor and continued to find the open man all night," Botsch pointed out. " We once again got a wide array of contributions from about eight different players and our kids keep picking each other up and complimenting each other so well. It was a very nice win and the kids deserve it. I'm proud of them.
"I hope a win like this will give us the confidence and desire we need to win a district title," he continued. "I'm confident in these guys, and they've put in a lot of time and work to have the season that we've had. I hope all the work will pay off."
Bernie was to open district play Saturday against Holcomb. The results of that game were not known at press time, but will be covered in Tuesday's edition of the Daily Statesman.

Staley:
Now that Puxico has finished off the Rebels with ease, how many notches do you think Doudy and the boys will have to step it up to get past the Panthers of Meadow Heights and the Lutherans of Saxony? I am calling 2 notches for MH and a full 3.5 notches for the Lutherans. Anything less and the Indians can start throwing baseballs around or hope that MH steps it down a notch or two and that the Lutherans step it down 2 or 3 notches.
The jury is still out. Will depend on who can bring it home! No doubt, the pressure is on to perform here late in the season. This is what it is all about!
2nd best coach in the area as voted on by one LayneStaley. Doudy of Puxico gets the award for Coach of the Year. Got to give Scotty Blackburn and the young gun down at risco consideration too.
