"The wind played a big factor in the game," Dexter coach Tammy Crowley said. "We were hitting into it (the wind) and it was blowing the ball back towards the infield."
Dexter improved to 12-2 on the season. The Lady Bearcats will next be in action Monday at home against Bloomfield.
Bernie 14, Advance 4
Risco 22, Bernie 12
BERNIE -- Bernie's Lady Mules split a day-night double header Wednesday, dropping a 22-12 decision on the road at Risco, then returning home to pick up a 14-4 win over Advance that night.
"We played probably our worst game of the year at Risco, but then game back strong against Advance," Bernie coach Jeff Rodgers said.
Leslie (Kean) threw hard and we played solid defense. It seemed like every player advance the runners and we capitalized on all of our scoring opportunities.
" I know one thing, my players and I absolutely love these 7 o'clock starts," he added. "We get more fans out to the game and it's just a better time. I wish we would play all of our games at night."
Bailey Martin collected four hits to continue a hot-sitting streak, according to Rodgers, while Leslie Kean picked up the win against the Lady Hornets.
Bernie stands at 4-9 overall, 1-3 in SCAA play.
The Lady Mules will host Oak Ridge today at 4 p. m., weather permitting.
