Dexter's Lady Bearcats volleyball team dominated an out-matched Charleston squad at home Tuesday, winning the varsity game, 25-7, 25-10, after taking the junior varsity tilt, 25-9, 25-11.

Dexter's varsity record improved to 14-5-3 overall, 5-1 in league pay, while the younger Lady Bearcats now stand at 9-1, 4-1.

MALDEN -- Bernie salvaged a split at Malden Tuesday, winning the varsity match, 25-22, 25-9, after dropping the junior varsity match in three games, 25-19, 17-25, 25-14.

The win evened Bernie's varsity record at 10-10-1 on the year, while the jayvee unit slipped closer to the break-even mark at 8-6-1.

"You can tell by the scores of the games how we played the first game," Bernie coach Jeff Rodgers stated. "Malden is getting better, but we didn't hit the ball with authority he first game and did much better in the second. We're finally back to .500 and will start building from here."

Kristin Eaves again led Bernie in kills with eight, while Sarah Deason contributed a team-high 13 digs to go along with five aces. Sami Palmer charted 15 assists.

In jayvee action, Lyndsey Stone had 10 kills, while Ashley Williams and Carissa Cluck led in digs with 27 and 22, respectively.

"The jayvee just got out hustled by Malden.," Rodgers noted. "Many times in jayvee games, the team who makes the less silly mistakes wins the game. That's exactly what happened tonight (Tuesday)."

Bernie will next be in action Thursday at home when the Lady Mules will host Zalma. Jayvee play is slated to start at 6 p. m. with varsity action to follow.
