DHS athletes honored at fall sports banquet

The fall sports season at Dexter High School was officially brought to an end Tuesday night with the annual Fall Sports Recognition Program held in the DHS auditorium. Athletes participating in volleyball, football, cross country, girls tennis and cheerleading where recognized for their accomplishments while individual awards in each sports were presented. Nick Hessling (below) was the recipient of this year's Bland Award in football, given to the outstanding senior student-athlete. Hessling is pictured holding the award and standing in front of the table that displays the awards earned by Dexter teams during the fall campaign. Individual award winners for each sport are pictured in the photo to the right. They are (front row, from left) Brittney Waldner (cross country leadership), Lizzie Kohlbaker (cross country outstanding female runner) Katelyn Heil girls tennis, most wins in singles and doubles and Most Valuable Player) Hessling (outstanding back and Bland Award), (middle row) Luke Robinson (cross country outstanding male runner) Brittany Bedford (volleyball's outstanding defensive player) Jessica Satterfield (volleyball's outstanding setter) Cathrine Kinchen (tennis, most doubles wins), (back row) Cathryn Heil (volleyball's outstanding offensive player) Ben Mills (football's most valuable player) and Tim Moore (football's outstanding lineman). Not pictured is Aaron Mace (football's outstanding defensive player).
