Dexter committed nine errors and the Jackson Indians made them pay for the miscues with a 11-1 decision over the visiting Bearcats Wednesday afternoon.
"I don't know what was going on," Dexter coach Brian Becker said, trying to figure out what was up with his team.
I lead off walk to Jackson's Josh Duncan cost the Bearcats a first inning run, but an RBI double by Tyler George in the second scored Garret McKuin to tie the game.
Jackson blew the game open with a 4-run third as the Indians sent nine men to the plate.. Andy Winkleblack, Evan Watkins and Clayton Baker each had RBI singles in the frame.
Jackson starter Travis Hurst went the distance and allowed just five hits over his six innings of work to pick up the win. Cody Stause took the loss after going 4 2/3 innings. The left-hander was on the mound as Jackson scored seven runs, but only four were earned. He finished with six strikeouts, gave up just four hits. His efforts were hurt by four walks and numerous errors behind him.
Mason Noe had two of Dexter's five hits.
The loss snapped a four-game win streak by the Bearcats, who now stand at 9-3 on the season.
NOTES: Saturday the Bearcats picked up two wins in a round robin tournament at Twin Rivers. Dexter defeated South Pemiscott, 16-3, and host Twin Rivers, 19-9.
