A Dexter batter (right photo) delivers a hit during the team's 19-0 win over New Madrid in the finals of the season-ending 13-18 year old league tournament held this week at Dexter's Sports Complex fields. Dexter players (left photo), sponsored by Subway, and New Madrid players exchange post-game congratulations on the field after the championship game. New Madrid was short two players for the title game. Dexter, which posted a 13-7 season record, finished the season strong winning nine of its last 10 games. Alyssa Trewatha had two triples and five RBI in the team's 13-1 opening win over Charleston's "B" squad, then Lauren Massingill produced 6 RBI in the team's 14-4 win over top-seed Bell City to reach the finals of the winner's bracket. Dexter sent New Madrid to the losers bracket by handing them their first loss of the tournament, 14-8, behind two triples and a 4-RBI effort from Alanna Duley, then nailed down the title when they beat New Madrid, which emerged from the loser's, 19-0, as Trewatha came through with a 5-RBI game.
